Pipeline Professionals’ Association of Nigeria is a not-for-profit professional body that advises and provides useful information to aid the formulation of rules and regulations and strives to ensure that it keeps its members abreast of all that is happening in the Nigerian Oil Sector and the industry at large. PLAN is a not-for-profit Association whose mission is to
a) To promote the positive perception and appreciation of the importance of pipelines and create awareness among members of the public on harmful effects of pipeline sabotage.
b) To provide information and professional advice and support on the maintenance of pipelines to government and other agencies.
c) To facilitate the sharing of experiences and best practices among pipeline operators, service providers, regulators and any professional in the pipeline industry.
d) To encourage improvement in design, construction, integrity management, security, reliability, and flow assurance of pipelines.
e) To provide a forum through which training and skill development can be made available.
f) To stimulate and improve local expertise in the pipeline discipline.
Pipeline Professionals’ Association of Nigeria frequently organizes events that take into account, the Nigerian pipeline situation; such events include courses, short trainings, seminars, technical visits/sessions, exhibitions etc that are typical of a professional organization.
